Anniversary Weekend

I have been meaning to write a post about our fun weekend of anniversary celebration since it happened on April 18th, but somehow the weeks have slipped by and we have now been married 1.0438 years and I still have not done it.  But here it is, hopefully better late than never...
Since we both had work and school obligations we felt like we couldn't ditch out on, we decided to stay in town for our first anniversary and just celebrate here.  Saturday, we slept in (until 8am!)  and then went to a spa for our first ever couple's massage.  It turned out to be more of a "we both happen to be getting massages at the same time" type of deal, but was still quite enjoyable.  We came out feeling greased up, aromatherapied, and relaxed and stopped by Steak and Shake for a romantic supper.  That evening, we joined some friends for a night of roller derby.  That was definitely the highlight of the weekend and we're getting really excited to see the Cincinnati Rollergirls take on Minnesota later this month.  We are well on our way to becoming die-hard fans!

Us and Karma Krash

Sunday, we celebrated the actual day of our wededness with a dinner at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse.  It's a neat restaurant overlooking the river near downtown Cincinnati.

Waiting for our delicious BBQ pork

Eating the top of our wedding cake from the freezer.  Mmm, good memories.

We are continuing the celebration into this weekend with a camping trip to Kentucky.  We're hoping the thunderstorms decide to float on by so we can enjoy some hiking and campfires.  Pictures to come soon, I'm sure...

P.S.  If you are bored some day and want to see more of the mundane details of our everyday existence, we are starting a photo journal to document our second year of marriage.  It's mostly for our own sake, but you are free to peruse if you so desire - the link is on the right side of this page.
