Entering from the front door, you arrive at our large front room that we have divided into a living room on the right and an office/piano area on the left.
Baxter is demonstrating his favorite place to play in the living room.
Moving forward, you enter our dining area.
On the left are some windows that jut out from the house a bit, so we like to pretend we have a bay window in our dining room.
We also have our little breakfast table set up on the right side of the dining room. It mostly serves as a table to throw things on, though.
To the right from the dining room is our beautiful kitchen. I love having plenty of cupboard space and big counters!
We also have a door out to the deck from the kitchen and a door to the basement, which will not be pictured because it is pretty much just a giant closet at this point where we have been throwing boxes. It still needs a little work.
Heading back into the dining room, we will continue the tour up the stairs. Arriving at the top of the staircase, the bathroom is straight ahead.
It's pretty standard, except for the funky shower closet that I wrote about in an earlier blog.
To the right and left at the top of the stairs are the two bedrooms. Ours is on the right.
The ceilings are very sloped, so it took a bit of creative maneuvering to get our new queen mattress placed so that we don't hit our heads in the morning. We didn't realize how big queen mattresses are! But it's like sleeping on a pile of clouds, so we are happy to work with the fact that it takes up the majority of our living space in the bedroom. This bedroom also has a decent sized closet that we use to store a variety of closet items since there are only two closets in the whole house.
To the left at the top of the stairs in our extra bedroom that serves as a guest room, Scott's closet, future sewing area, and miscellaneous storage. It also has the tiniest closet doors we have ever seen!
And that concludes our tour. All in all, we are liking the house and loving the convenient location. The house has had its fair share of problems since we moved in, with the latest one being a lack of heat in the dryer. But we take it as it comes and appreciate the things when they are fixed all the more. We are nervous to see how the house handles the winter, but will cross that river when we get to it (hopefully not for awhile yet!).
The other bit of news is that Scott fulfilled his recent dream last weekend by buying himself a truck. Now we can haul stuff :-)
